We come now to the final Beatitude in the list of eight uttered by Christ—"Blessed are the persecuted". This is the only beatitude that is repeated by Christ. We have learnt about the blessedness of the poor in spirit, the mournful, the meek, those who yearn after righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers. Yet, such people are persecuted by non-Christians. Why is it so? Learn more in today's sermon.
